8 Breakfast Go-To Spot's

For the times when you want to get poached eggs from a professional.

A lot of people have asked me “where is the best place to go for breakfast?” or “where is a great BEC?” (BEC is a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Sandwich. I know, I had to Google it too).

Normally, I would say “my house, in my pajamas.” However, there are a few places I like to visit when I want to treat myself and not go through all the workings of making poached eggs.

Here's a list of some of my go-to spots in Orlando to try for breakfast:

1) First Watch

📍Waterford Lakes

I love First Watch because they serve amazing coffee, and I can finish an entire meal and not feel like I have to take a nap afterward.

I normally go for the TRI-FECTA ($11.29):

Which gets you a pancake, two eggs, and breakfast meat.

What I usually get is a:

  • Blueberry pancake
  • Two poached eggs
  • Turkey sausage.

Another recommended item to order at First Watch would be their house-made juices, all their combinations have never disappointed me!

2) Waffle House

📍E Colonial Dr

I know, it’s a chain. I know, you're not getting anything jaw-dropping at a Waffle House.

But what you ARE getting is super fresh, super quick, and relatively inexpensive breakfast food.

Plus they're open 24 seven so why not support a place that supports others nonstop?

I usually order the All-Star Special Breakfast (~$8) with a chocolate chip waffle, over medium eggs, and hashbrowns WITH caramelized onions. This is very important, you can add many items to hashbrowns at WAHO, but my preference is grilled onions.

Truly a superb breakfast combo 👌🏻

3) Canvas Restaurant & Market.

📍Lake Nona

They have great cocktails, bottomless mimosas, and amazing breakfast entrées that are for both sweets people AND savory people.

Plus the view is great out on the water!

Whenever I go to Canvas, I usually order something different every time.

Mainly since everything I’ve gotten has always been good.

A staple to always order is the TWICE-COOKED YUCA FRIES ($9).

Pictured is their Eggs Benedict & Egg Hash Skillet with a biscuit. Both accompanied by a rose spritzer.

4) Deli Desires

📍Colonialtown North

I can have Deli Desires for breakfast, lunch, and I would have it for dinner but they close at 3 PM.

They are currently takeout only. So you can show up, grab your food and coffee, then eat it all in your car.

Or you can sit outside and enjoy yourself in a park or poolside! I usually eat mine out on the patio and watch the sunrise.

I always order the Labneh sandwich ($8) with a Cortado ($4) + Cinnamon syrup ($.50).

They always have different rotating baked goods as well! You can also find items like anchovies, chili oil, olive oil, chips, and merchandise while you're there too. Their branding is a wonder to behold IMO.

5) Brooklyn Water Bagel

📍N Goldenrod Rd

I am a BIG fan of bagel sandwiches for breakfast, and at Brooklyn Water Bagel, you get a good amount of bagel AND a good amount of filling.

Plus their cubby claw coffee is WOWZER caffeinated 🙌🏻 so if you're in the mood for a little buzz buzz, then definitely grab yourself some!

I will usually order the Williamsburg ($9) which is Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese, Tomato & Red Onion on Plain Bagel (but I get it with an everything bagel instead).

Plus a regular-sized Cubby Claw ($3.59) with a creamer of preference.

6) Zaza's New Cuban Diner.

📍Waterford Lakes

They're a local franchise in Florida, PLUS! They have a spot in the MCO international airport (best place for your $$)

If you hadn't noticed, I really enjoy SAVORY dishes in the morning and a good cup of coffee.

At Zaza’s, I always order "less sweetened" Cafe Con Leche ($3.05) and a combo plate ($7.65). I make sure to get black beans and maduros every time.

Everything else is an added bonus!! All the flavors are incredible there, even if you just want Cuban toast and some butter.

7) Financier Bistro & Bar a Vin

📍Park Avenue, WP

For when you're feeling more on the fancy side.

It's located on Park Avenue in Winter Park, FL.

The vibes inside are super European, and really transcends you to a different environment.

What I order there (every time) is the Saumon Fumée (a salmon, cucumber, red onion croissant sandwich).

This croissant salmon sandwich is freaking $16, but I will always get it.

All of the ingredients are so fresh and aromatic, it gives you a really fine-dining feel.

8) Boma Flavors of Africa at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom resort.

📍W Osceola Pkwy

(Temporarily Closed because of COVID-19)  Another pricier choice, but well worth it.

It's $35 for all-you-desire to consume and there are so many good quality meats and sides that you’ll be wanting to try a little bit of everything.

Something my family always loves to order in the Pumpkin Squash Soup, they do it so well!

They also have cocktails in case you’re wanting to down some mimosas at the most magical place on earth 🙌🏻✨

That's it! That's every ounce of knowledge I have for paying for breakfast food that doesn't tranquilize you to sleep or make you diarrhea yourself.

Until next time! 👋🏻
