Border Grill Fresh-Mex

Tacos, Coronas, and lots and lots of limes and good times.

Border Grill Fresh-Mex (5695-A Vineland Rd, Orlando, FL 32819), a Mexican Quick Service restaurant that has everything you are looking for in a local Mexican eatery.

My first introduction to this restaurant was for my friend’s birthday. She is obsessed with their chips, queso, salsa, and steak quesadilla. Since dairy is an acquaintance of mine, I decided to join them!

For starters, this restaurant is in a shopping plaza on Kirkman Rd. right by Soupa Saiyan. It’s small but there is outdoor seating in case the indoor space is full.

The energy of Border Grill is very hustle and bustle, in a good way! They want to know what you want so they can start making it and get it out to you, because after all the food is what matters.

The chips at Border Grill are restaurant style, thin tortilla chips made fresh. Paired with their house salsa (warning: their salsa is on the spicier side just in case you have sensitive spicy friends or that is you)

I do love their queso, I just can’t have too much of it because dairy and fat doesn’t love me. We all ordered quesadillas, my friends ordered the steak, but I requested for shrimp in mine because Mexican Shrimp is always so flavorful.

Once we are served I take a bite of the quesadilla and boom, flavor city. The quesadilla comes with pico de gallo on the side and any hot sauces if you need them (the green is the spiciest even though it looks the least intimidating).

If you need more than just your quesadilla, you can always add a side of rice and beans.

Everything was top notch, except for my little-to-no iron stomach that can’t handle butter, cheese, and queso in one evening. However! Whatever tummy trouble I had, was cancelled out by all the lovely flavors of garlic and shrimp.

If you’re like me, and want to walk on the wild side, here's my go-to order below.

The beauty of the outdoor seating at Border Grill on a hot day in Orlando, is that with the food, plus the Corona, it might make you feel as if you have transported to Mexico City.

This spot was made for having community, whether it is with one person, or multiple people.

If you wind up trying Border Grill, please share with me your experience! You can tag me at @allysoneatz or #allysoneatz so I can I see!
